Abstract
This thesis investigates the electric vehicle battery supply chain of BMW Group as a benchmark to determine how sustainable the supply chain is and to what extent it can be improved based on a documentary based on secondary data. The research will illuminate parts and interactions in the supply chain that need more sustainable solutions. The Thesis concludes that BMW Group follows a flawed sustainability theory, the TripleBottom-Line (TBL), which is proven through literature based on theory and practice and a stakeholder analysis. The sustainable improvements to the EV battery supply chain are derived in a conceptual framework which is based on an emerging sustainability theory, Ecologically Dominant (ED) logic and a modified stakeholder view adjusted accordingly.
