This thesis focuses on risk involved in a shipping company called Hafnia Tankers. There are many different risks involved in the business and this paper seeks to find a solution how to identify, control and mitigate the risks. Hafnia is relatively new company and is already a market leader on some parameters. They entered the market on right time and have not prepared the company for a down period. Hafnia has to adapt to the new trends in the market and at the same time take market shares and not lose them. Therefor focusing and be able to control the risks is very important. In order to create a suggestion for a risk management tool the following question is to be answered: How can Hafnia tailor their risk management profile in order to identify, assess, control and mitigate risks in the future? There has been made a survey of the company to see whether these strategies are already in use, and if so, how well incorporated they are in order to understand the company and be able to support the collected empirical data to identify and mitigate risk. Also the data on this topic has been analysed in order to assess how comprehensive it is. The analysis elaborates on the different options Hafnia have in order to mitigate risk and be more attractive towards investors and clients. The thesis concludes the by following the suggested supply chain risk strategies, Hafnia will be able to control the risk in the industry and attract more investors towards an IPO. However, the strategies also have to be in line with the company’ value propositions and to incorporate the five megatrends.
