Abstract
Digital Mastery is a term created to describe a state of sustainable innovation achieved through appropriate use of information technology (IT) or digital technologies. This study starts with a review of the theory of Digital Mastery and the literature upon which it is based. It continues with the case of Maersk Line, a company currently applying the theory in order to achieve Digital Mastery. The study of Maersk Line shows that Maersk Line has just entered the digital master catagory, but that hard work will be required to remain masters in the future. The case also shows that finding and maintaining the balance between IT and business is difficult, but since it is vital to long term success, it is worth the effort.
