Abstract

«You can have any colour as long as it’s black” was a remark from Henry Ford, when he spoke about the car Model T in 1909. After a century, the car is not only available for every driver, but soon also available for everybody else. Today, the photovoltaic market is in high growth, yet, you can have any colour as long as it’s black. Opportunities in this market can be found on several levels and in many markets, as only few regions have applied the use of solar power, to an extent where supply exceeds demand. And high investments in R&D is paying off with yearly improvements to the solar energy market. With an international perspective to theoretic discussions and with research on the conditions with which Elkem Solar is surrounded, when it comes to innovation, value chains, derivatives, transparency and competition, I will be using project management as a method to unify these various subjects into workable conditions that will make this company come closer to expanding its market potential in the Nordic countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Along this journey, I will also identify the main advantages that Elkem Solar is possessing, and I will identify how the company can use monitoring in order to secure the future expansion
