Abstract
This thesis aims to address the issue among the criteria time, price and comfort between commuter transportation options in a weighted Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) model. To get these estimated values for the MCDM model is to do so by a constructing a simulations program in C# which generate random commute routes between mass transit and private motoring. These routes are based on roads, train, metro, and bus data in the metropolitan area of Denmark.
The study shows the weights for the specific criteria among commuters have the final say in the transport choice. A group of commuters who weigh price a lot more than time prefers the mass transit instead of the private motoring. A different group of commuters who weigh time higher prefer private motoring.
