Abstract
Collaboration between schools and private companies is gaining attention in Denmark, both politically and in practice, particularly as a didactic tool in STEM subjects. However, what systematic knowledge exists regarding the contributions and challenges of these collaborations in a Danish context? This re-view article maps and discuss the existing literature on the collaboration’s 1) Distribution, 2) Learning, 3) Actors and 4) Organization. Studies on science didactics position collaboration as a potential avenue for authentic and relevant teaching, while other studies critically assess the impact of the collaboration. The article explores the literature’s conclusions about the roles of teachers, school managers, companies, and municipalities, and the organization of the collaboration. There is a need for further knowledge about companies’ commitment and teachers’ competencies.
