Abstract

In April 28, 2010 the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council Europe adopted a resolution, encouraging historians of countries of the former Soviet Union which suffered during the Great Famine, as well as historians from other countries, to conduct joint independent research programmes in order to establish the full, unbiased and unpoliticised truth about this human tragedy, and to make it public. The Ukrainian famine is one of the most well studied subjects in the world historiography, with more than 20,000 publications devoted to the study of Holodomor.
