N2 - This paper, starting from the historical evolution of global special economic zones, analyzes the various structures, space, functions and management dimensions of the special economic zones with the evolution of the global economic environment. This paper makes a thorough research on the developmental characteristics and the important factors for the success of the special economic zones in the selected countries. This paper inspects the correlation of the special economic zones in the current world again, summarizes the experience of successful special economic zones based on the analysis of the root causes of the current increase in the special economic zones, and then puts forward the key factors for developing successful special economic zones.
