Abstract
Decomposition is a process that can facilitate the breaking down of complex systems so standardization and innovation can be managed independently. As systems advance and grow for economies of scale and scope, the tradeoffs and nuances that arise from such process are not trivial. This paper explores how tradeoffs can be operationalized and measured.
