Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to develop a theoretical approach for a better understanding of the different rationalities of stakeholders in urban freight, in particular in last-mile delivery. By the application of the marketing concept value (co-) creation (Vargo & Lusch, 2004), this paper tries to develop a framework for understanding the value creating relationships between the concerned stakeholders and to identify the created values in the interface between the different stakeholders. Our supposition is that clarification of values created by individual stakeholders as well as the system as a whole will increase the emphasis on sustainable last-mile delivery solutions.
