Abstract
What are the human prerequisites for effective organizations, and what does the societal environment mean? In this article, we explore new research comparing how organizations in the Nordic countries manage their employees with practices elsewhere in the world.
The point is that the institutional framework and national culture together create a context that defines what is appropriate HRM practice in each country.
