Abstract

This study examines how modular design strategies can help reduce product return rates in e-commerce, focusing on footwear. Combining computational analysis with qualitative insights, the study aims to identify component interactions linked to high return rates. Early review-based insights suggest that issues such as misaligned fit, discomfort, and durability concerns can be addressed via modularization. By bridging modular design with return management, the study offers theoretical insights and practical strategies for improving product development, customer satisfaction, and sustainability in e-commerce.
