Abstract

This is the first of a two-case series (310-265-1 and 310-266-1). The case gives a quick background for the successful expansion of Lehman Brothers'' global franchise and describes how risk management was approached by senior management and the board. In doing so, the case provides a general overview of potential risk considerations and indicates how reported exposures in Lehman Brothers developed during 2006-07.
