    Abstract

Complexity in information technology architectures and infrastructures, and an increasing need for executives to verify and secure value generation processes in private as well as public organisations, call for an increasing awareness and understanding of Corporate Governance in general and IT Governance in particular. The paper investigates how IT Governance is adopted in the case company Novozymes A/S, which is a biotech-based world leader in industrial enzymes and microorganisms. Based on a review of 17 IT Governance Tools, the paper analyses the challenges of the adopted IT Governance arrangements and mechanisms. Finally, the paper point to future development directions in order to further unfold the potential of IT Governance at Novozymes A/S.
