Abstract
The connection between access to electricity and food security has become increasingly relevant in the context of protracted displacement, where humanitarian and development needs converge. In our recently published empirical research (see Most et al., 2025), we examine this link by drawing on household-level data from six refugee settlements across Zambia, Malawi, and Uganda. The findings highlight the critical, yet often understudied, role that energy access plays in enabling safe, reliable, and nutritious food consumption for displaced populations.
