Abstract
This article presents the background of the anthology on energy regulation in the green transition and the three overarching topics that the con tributions to this volume cover. Part one on Regulation and Tariff Design discusses the importance of ownership, the relationship between inno vation and regulation, and tariff design. Part two on Governance and Legal Aspects investigates the role of existing legal frameworks on the social acceptance of renewable energy infrastructure and the revenue-cap regulatory framework. Part three on Investment Decision Frameworks offers a critical analysis of methodologies and views on the role of the social discount rate and the valuation of environmental benefits. The introduction concludes with a number of insights from the anthology of specific importance for the Green Transition.
