Abstract

Information disclosure is one of the most widely adopted and influential climate change mitigation measures. Successful information disclosure requires well-designed programs that reflect an understanding of which actors can convey the information, who can and should receive it, how it can be effectively framed, and why and how recipients can use it to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Information disclosure typically addresses GHG emissions or the risks that arise from climate change, and it encompasses at least six different levels: corporations, investors and lenders, facilities, projects, products, and individuals. This entry addresses information at the first four of these levels.
