Abstract

This article discusses the use of Google Translate together with translation dictionaries. We carried out an experiment involving ten test subjects, who were asked to record their post-editing of a Google Translate generated translation. The data show that the test subjects did not get the help they needed from translation dictionaries. In this light, we argue that translation dictionaries should also be designed for post-editing, and we present a function-based model.
