Abstract
Extensive research has examined how civil society employs participatory platforms to amplify citizens’ voices and enhance democratic engagement. However, the use of such platforms extends beyond the political and public spheres. Organizations are increasingly adopting participatory platforms to foster grassroots engagement and collective decision-making in settings traditionally dominated by hierarchical structures. This study aims to examine this emerging frontier of digital democracy by investigating how organizations leverage participatory platforms to enact democratic practices in organizational settings. The findings will contribute to a growing body of research on digital participation and offer insights into how digital technologies can support more democratic forms of organizational governance and culture.
