Abstract

This paper explores how data and landscape dynamically interact in forming new digital ventures. It examines how digital ventures transform their environments by producing and recombining digital data by drawing on Deleuzo-Guattarian concepts, such as the assemblage, territorialization, and coding. The research is based on an embedded single case study following a Danish venture studio creating digital ventures in the HealthTech vertical. Using Situational Analysis, I investigate the relational patterns that emerge as digital ventures interact with and reshape their environments. My findings reveal that digital ventures transform patterns of lived experience and material substance by extending them with novel forms of digital data, which are then utilized for various types of recombination. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital innovation by providing a nuanced understanding of how data-driven processes shape the creation of digital ventures, offering new insights into the fluid and relational nature of digital innovation management.
