Abstract

Unions and workers’ prior experience with BLWR play a key role in overcoming coordination issues ahead of first-time BLWR implementations, workers experi-ence higher engagement and motivation as they are granted the right to worker representation, and BLWR firms hire more managerial talent internal the firm and provide more career opportunities for firm-workers as a result. These are all key findings from the three individual articles of this dissertation on contingencies and consequences of worker representation.
