Abstract
The Review of International Political Economy introduced a new Best Article Award in 2023, named after the late Timothy Sinclair. Tim’s work influenced how the field of IPE understands the sociology of knowledge in finance and the economy. His first article on credit ratings, which was published in the first issue of RIPE, exemplified exactly what this journal stands for: groundbreaking IPE scholarship by early career researchers, unafraid to tackle big, real-world problems and questions.
The Timothy Sinclair Best Article Award recognizes articles that have pushed the boundaries of IPE, theoretically and/or empirically, creating openings for new lines of inquiry and re-consideration of existing knowledges. Nominations were made by our International Advisory Board members, and the award committee consisted of Eric Helleiner, Randall Germain, Leonard Seabrooke and Natalya Naqvi.
