Abstract
[Purpose/Significance]This study explored the influencing factors of social media user burnout and its interactive relationship with negative usage behaviors, improved the relevant theories of user information behavior, and provided guidance for the healthy development of social media. [Method/Process]Based on the grounded theory, data were collected through in-depth interviews. After several stages including open coding, axial coding, selective coding, and theoretical saturation testing, a model of influencing factors of social media burnout and negative usage behaviors was constructed. [Result/Conclusion]External environmental factors affect the personal cognition of social media users. Environmental factors and user personal factors jointly affect users' burnout emotions. Burnout emotions further lead to users' negative usage behaviors. There are differences in the degree of negativity of usage behaviors caused by users' burnout emotions of different intensities and sources.
