Global organization of innovation and production, the case of knowledge intensive industries for the green transition

As China evolves into a country in which science, technology and innova on policy is priori sed at
the na onal level, and compe ng at the global level, the dynamics driving the implementa on of
policies to reach the goals are important to study. The Chinese na onal innova on system has
developed over 30 years and at an increasing speed. Today, China hosts top universi es, large
science parks, state of the art science infrastructure, and na onal ambi ons that shows a strong
na onal commitment to mission-oriented innova on policy and are set by the consecu ve
strategic five-year plans and medium and long-term planning coming from the central government.
