Project Details
Description
Digital transformation is a strategic imperative for today’s businesses. The massive
scale of digital offerings and the growing network between people, digital devices,
and systems change the circumstances under which organizations and their
members innovate and operate. Therefore, the organizational capacity to
accomplish successful digital transformation is more than ever a critical dynamic
capability required for gaining a competitive edge and enduring business resilience.
Yet, digital transformation is often obstructed by challenges related to the work
practice and social fabric of the organization. The proposed PhD project--
developing tools for fostering digital transformation in legacy organizations, such
as Danish Crown—is a scholarly challenge with practical implications to industry.
On a national level, digital transformation is expected to have a positive effect on
productivity and GDP through job creation, business innovation and workforce
transformation.
