Description

Maritime transport is an essential tool for the EU economy as it contributes to
around 75% of EU external trade volumes and 31% of EU internal trade volumes.
As such, being the entry and exit points for the trans-European transport
network, maritime ports play an important role as multimodal transport nodes.
But how can their potential be harnessed? This breakout session explores the
opportunities and challenges of European ports as gateways, namely in terms of
trade, intermodality and sustainable energy hubs.
