Abstrakt

This master thesis takes you on an existential phenomenological walk through the landscape of leadership at IBM. The point of departure for this thesis is a belief in that there is more to the phenomenon of leadership than IBM says in their existing philosophy of leadership. A philosophy which is mainly based upon what can be measured and weighed, what can be structured and controlled, and what can be spoken of in an economical language. With existentialism as babsis for this exploration of leadership, leadership is something, which can never be defined in advance. It is an empty concept, which appears, which evolves, which becomes visible in the meeting, in the dialogue between human beings. The purpose of this thesis is thus to explore through an existential perspective how leadership appears if it is viewed upon as meetings.
