Abstract
The present paper will take a closer look at Credit Guarantee Schemes (CGS). Relying on the vast body of experience from CGS described in the literature across countries and contexts the paper will seek to shed light on the following topics: • What are the experiences in terms of different modes of operation? And is it possible to identify a best practice? • How can performance of such loan guarantee schemes be measured? And what are the results obtained from such measurements? • What are the future perspectives of CGS?
