Abstract
The following thesis is concerned with finding out “How does institutional context of Middle Eastern emerging markets impact entry strategies of developed country firms?” In trying to answer this question the paper utilizes a comparative case study. It compares the institutions of Denmark - the developed market representative, and the United Arab Emirates – the Middle Eastern emerging market representative. The purpose of this comparison is to identify the institutional voids, which have been found to be the prime factor in institutional influencers of strategy. The analysis finds that there are certain institutional voids between the markets of which culture and a restriction of foreign ownerships is the largest influencers.
