    Abstract

Science is as much bound by single scholars as by schools of thought. Business studies and its disciplines are no exception. A systematic analysis of structural effects in and of co-authorship networks of the past 35 years within German-speaking organization science proves this statement to be right. The history of this discipline provides an example of the looming end of single authorship and the rise of even more collaboration among the next generation of scientists.
