title = "Managing Circular Business Model Innovation",
abstract = "In recent years, as a response to the urgent environmental challenges, there has been a renewed interest in innovative, circular business models. This chapter presents the current state of affairs regarding circular business models and provides a perspective on how to advance the field for the benefit of business and society. First, it describes circular business models as an umbrella term for a wide variety of business architectures that aim to narrow, slow, close, and/or regenerate resource flows. Subsequently, it addresses some of the internal and external implementation factors that may affect the success of circular business models and the impacts on people, profit, and planet. This chapter is supplemented with case studies of companies that work every day to make circularity operable.",
