Beskrivelse
This project investigates the mechanisms underlying social tipping points in the context of
sustainable behavior change. Focusing on how individual actions can trigger large-scale societal
shifts, the project explores the role of social contagion and behavioral thresholds in driving or
hindering collective change. Through the analysis of large-scale behavioral data and experimental
methods, it examines when and why individuals adopt sustainable behaviors and how these
decisions are influenced by social dynamics, moralization, and perceived norms. By integrating
insights from social psychology, behavioral economics, and sustainability science, the project aims
to produce empirically grounded models of social tipping dynamics with direct relevance to climate
action and policy.
