Trading Personal Data in Algorithmically Mediated Democracies

The idea is to gather scholars from different disciplines to discuss adverse effects on democracy posed by digital transformation, including the pervasive use of algorithms and personal data. The goal is to identify and discuss research ideas and solutions for how to tackle these challenges. Solutions will be explored by addressing the technological, behavioural and legal architecture of society. Involved disciplines of science include law, political science, sociology, information science, data science, human-computer interaction and behavioural sciences (psychology, neurobiology etc.). The multidisciplinary approach will expand individual researchers’ understanding of problems and solutions.
