Beskrivelse
If awarded the SARU Fellowship, I will continue to build upon my existing research in the area of
public finance and transparency, with a particular focus on Ukraine’s defense and public budgeting
processes. Specifically, I intend to:
• Further develop my ongoing project, "Boosting Efficiency, Sustainability, and Transparency
in Ukraine’s Public Finance for EU Integration" (BEST-Ukraine), which aims to align
Ukraine’s public finance systems with European Union standards. This research is crucial
for facilitating Ukraine’s long-term economic stabilization and integration into the EU.
• Collect and analyze essential data on government budgeting processes, policies, and
regulatory frameworks within Ukraine, with the aim of identifying best practices for
transparency and open governance.
• Under the esteemed mentorship of Professor Hans Krause Hansen, I will prepare an
academic article focusing on corruption within Ukraine’s defense sector, an area that
requires immediate and thorough examination in the context of post-war recovery.
Additionally, I will contribute a chapter to the forthcoming monograph titled "Verification
of Financial Information in Ukrainian Companies During War: Challenges and Prospects,"
which will explore the financial oversight challenges faced by Ukrainian enterprises during
the ongoing conflict.
• Collaborate closely with my CBS colleagues and fellow Ukrainian researchers to design and
implement a range of research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and case
studies, with
• the next generation of Ukrainian the aim of producing actionable policy recommendations
that can strengthen governance and transparency in Ukraine’s public sector.
• Produce a comprehensive monograph on the transparency of budgeting in Ukraine’s defense
sector in collaboration with my colleagues at Taras Shevchenko National University of
Kyiv.
